Eva FC Ready To Win Ever Cup

After defeating Peace Sporting Academy 1-0 in the semi final of Ever Increasing Soccer Championship held on Tuesday at the Igando playground, Alimosho, Coach Victor Overy of Eva Football Club spoke with SUNDAY AKINTOYE about his team’s performance and plans to win the competition

How would you rate your team’s 1-0 victory over Peace Sporting Academy in the semi final of Ever Increasing Cup?

It was a hard won victory for us because both teams played purposeful football. We were just lucky to win the game.

Your team would play the winners of the match between Akinrogun FC and Dynamic FC in the final, how are you preparing for the encounter?

We are not afraid of any team. We have come a long way and this is the time we need to win the cup for our fans who have been supporting us since the tournament started.

Which of the matches was your toughest in this championship?

It was our last group match against Toco FC. It was tough in the sense that our opponents needed outright victory, while we needed a draw to qualify for the quarter final. Both teams went into the match with high expectations and thank God that we won the game 4-0 at the end of the day.

Were you under pressure before the match against Toco FC?

Of course I was a little bit under pressure because our opponents were equally a good side. So, it was a sweet victory for my team when we went into the game and came out victorious.

Looking at your performance in this tournament, are your team good enough to win the trophy?

I don’t see our opponents in the final stopping us from winning the cup. My team are good for the trophy. I will be very disappointed if we fail to lift the cup. We have worked so hard to get to this stage.
