Wusu Football Club, Idiroko, Owode, defeated Togo Football Club of Sango-Otta, Ogun State, to lift Vanguard Sports Promotion,VSP, Football Championship.
The final, watched by a large crowd at the Army Barracks, Owode, Idiroko, was a one sided encounter. Wusu FC walloped Togo 3-0 to win the covted trophy.
Kola Odunbaku and Tunde Olanrewaju scored for Wusu in the first half, while Hameed Jeleel sealed the victory in the second half of the game.
Team Manager of Wusu FC, Coach Tunde Oyebande, described his team’s unbeaten run in the tournament as a feat he would savour for a long time.
“We had a good tournament at the VSP Cup. I believe this victory is a sign of good thing to come for us this year,” he said.
Some of the dignitaries that graced the final ceremony of the tourney organised by Usman Ismael-led Vanguard Sports Promotion were Ambassador Olugbenga Fashina, Akinola Leke, Oladele Modiu and former Benin Republic player, Jonathan.
