Summit To Focus On SouthWest Economic Potentials

National Class Magazine is organising a business and investment summit to target opportunities in the southwest region of Nigeria.

In a statement signed by the editor, Prince Tola Bakare, the summit with the theme: “Repositioning The Southwest for a Sustainable 21st Century economy”, was aimed at giving policy makers the opportunity to discuss the transformation and economic reform agents of the present administrations in the region.

“Specifically, discussions will focus on the way forward for the southwest, particularly in the wake of the global economic crisis,” he added.

According to him, insight on various economic issues will be provided by key players of the economy such as Governor of Central Bank, Mallam Sanusi A. Sanusi; Minister of Finance, Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; Minister of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Segun Aganga; Director-General, Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC; Mrs. Arumah Oteh and Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, Mr. Oscar Onyema.

The summit will attract institutional investors from across the globe who will meet with officials of top-rated companies in the southwest over a four-day period.

Prince Bakare disclosed further that the overall objective of the summit is to facilitate over a billion dollar in investments to the southwest by providing platform for direct exchange of information between the investors and businessmen from the region.
