Jonathan’s Village Thrown Into Darkness

Otuoke,President Goodluck Jonathan’s village in Ogbia Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, southsouth Nigeria, has been thrown into darkness for the past three days.

The residents who told P.M.NEWS at Otuoke Wednesday that they are not used to power outage in recent times, said they are placing their plight squarely at the doorsteps of Governor Seriake Dickson, who is barely a month old in office for not fixing the faulty Imiringi gas turbine that is over 30 years old.

According to a resident who gave her name as Mrs Laurita Martins, lamented the lack power supply in Otuoke.

“They said there is no more gas in the turbines. Can’t our new Governor buy gas and fill the turbines so that we have light How much does it cost? At the village here there is no petrol station,” Mrs. Martins lamented.
