No Nigerian Applied For Tech Director Post -NFF
Chairman, Technical Committee of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Christopher Green has revealed that no Nigerian coach applied for the Technical Director post when it was advertised in the national daily newspapers.
Green claimed that when NFF advertised the position, no Nigerian coach showed interest until former Kenya coach,Tom Saintfiet was appointed for the job.
“We did not see any application from Nigerian coaches until some foreign coaches who applied for the job were interviewed and we picked the best among the shortlisted candidates”, said Green, who was reacting on the appointment of Saintfiet yesterday.
In his swift reaction, former Super Eagles Coach, Onigbinde faulted Green’s comment, saying the federation was economical with the truth.
Onigbinde disclosed that NFF did not at any time advertise the post of Tech Director in the dailies.
He said: “Despite the fact that the position of Technical Director was not publicly advertised, there are some Nigerian coaches who applied for the job but were not even shortlisted in the final screening.
“When and where did NFF advertise the position of Technical Director?” Onigbinde queried.
“What I was told was that some Nigerian coaches, who knew about the vacant position applied, but none of them was appointed,” he concluded.
