General Superintendent, Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi says Nigeria will not break up as being speculated in some quarters.

Kumuyi, who spoke at his church’s Easter Retreat at the Deeper Life Conference Centre, DLCC, Km 42, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria said he was very hopeful that the nation would remain a single entity.

He stated that clamour in some quarters that the nation should disintegrate was uncalled for, saying that there was the need for all to collaborate to tackle the challenges facing the nation at this critical period.

“Some people are calling for disintegration. Nigeria shall not break down or disintegrate. We don’t need disintegration; we need to stay together,” he said.

The man of God also called on other religious leaders to cooperate in order to tackle religious extremists terrorising the country.

“We should cooperate to bring this down. Will this come to an end? It has happened before. This thing (Boko Haram) will come to an end but if it should, we should cooperate now as a country,” he said.

Kumuyi urged political leaders in the nation to imbibe the virtue of Christ in order to move the nation forward.

“Our leaders should emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ who was crucified for our sins and transgression. They should start with forgiveness and move to providing real servant leadership. They should not think of themselves above others. This will take us there,” he said.

The Deeper Life leader decried the high level of crime rate, armed robbery and rape in the nation and called on the leaders to rise up and carry out the promises they made to the people in their manifestoes.

“Christian leaders should cooperate with the political leaders to move the nation forward. With the spirit of Christ, I believe they can turn things around. Whatever sacrifice we need to make to move the nation forward, we should make it,” he added.

On safe abortion, Kumuyi said the church frowned against all forms of abortion as it is a sin against God, adding that only God “has power to give and take life. This is what this ministry stands for. We count life sacred and do not support any form of abortion.”

Over 200,000 worshippers attended the Deeper Life Easter Retreat at the weekend nationwide. The retreat had as its theme: The Miracle of Calvary.

Kumuyi preached on salvation from sin, sanctification, Holy Ghost baptism, divine healing, readiness for the coming of Christ, among others.
