Yusuf Cup Final: Labro Coach Promises Messiah Tough Game
Chief Coach of Labro FC, Adeniyi Adetula is upbeat that his team will shock Messiah FC when both teams clash in the final of the Adeyinka Yusuf Cup.
When the two teams met in the group stage at the Teachers Training College, Ifako-Ijaiye, recently, the match ended 1-1.
Adetula told P.M.Sports at the club’s training session that having reached the final stage, his target is to lift the cup.
“We have come a long way and cannot afford to lose to the Messiah, who struggled to draw with us in the group stage. We know our opponents very well and it will be easy for us to outplay them,” he said.
Adetula said the return of Abbey Adekola, Deji Fatoye and Nuru Yusuf to the team will help them defeat their opponents.
“When we met Messiah FC in the group stage, we missed some of our key players but right now all the key players are back and better, so Messiah FC should forget the trophy” he boasted.
In his response, Messiah Coach, Ushurhe Anthony, said his team are not afraid of their opponents.
He reiterated that his team are in good frame of mind to take their opponents to the cleaners. “I am not going to boast on the pages of newspaers. All I know is that Labro FC don’t have what it takes to stop us from achieving our ambition,” he boasted.
Meanwhile, the organisers of the tournament say they are waiting for the cup donor, Alhaji Adeyinka Yusuf, to fix the date for the final.
