Gov Okorocha Donates To NOUN

The National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN, study centre in Owerri got a boost as the Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha donated the High Court building in Owerri to NOUN management on Thursday, 12 April 2012.

This donation came when a high-powered delegation from NOUN led by the institution’s council chairman, Prof. Gregory Iwu with other council members, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Vincent Tenebe and others paid a courtesy visit to the governor in Owerri.

Governor Okorocha, who is well known for his passion for education, also promised the NOUN management to refurbish and assist in equipping the structure as part of his commitment to boost his educational policies for Imo State people.

Prof. Gregory Iwu, on behalf of the NOUN team, thanked the governor for his generosity and quick response to NOUN’s needs. Also present at the event from NOUN were the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Vincent Ado Tenebe, the Registrar, Bursar and Librarian, Directors DLSS, DPP, and DMI, Enugu Study Centre and Umuahia Study Centre.

The Secretary to the Imo State government, state commissioners of youth, education, and other important Imo State dignitaries also witnessed the event.
