S.F. Olowookere Dies

A performer of O Wa Nbe style of Juju music, Chief Solomon Folorunso Olowookere is dead. He died on Sunday, 8 April, 2012 at Gbagada General Hospital, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria during a brief illness.

Popular for his evergreen song Oge Gele, he was part of Faaji Agba Collective, a group of elderly Nigerian artistes that performed at a show in New York, USA, He was also a regular feature every Saturday at Papingo Night Club at Stadium Hotel, Surulere, Lagos.

At press time, his family members were still meeting over his burial arrangement, but there are indications that his remains will be buried at his home in Osun State later this month.
