Warriors, Pillars Still Unbeaten

Dodan Warriors of Lagos and Kano Pillars of Kano at the weekend maintained their unbeaten records at the ongoing 4th DSTV Men’s Basketball League., as they beat their opponents, Comets and Niger Potters respectively.

The Adeka Daudu-coached Warriors defeated former champions, Comets, coached by national team head coach, Ayo Bakare by 89-64 points, inside the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

Also, two times champions of the domestic league, Kano Pillars, on their home court in Kano, beat Niger Potters by 89-62 points to maintain their lead on the Savannah Conference league table.

NAN reports that DodanWarriors, the 2010/2011 second runners-up dominated all the quarters of the game.

Coach Adeka Daudu of Dodan Warriors attributed his team’s victory to determination, adding that they were prepared to emerge champions this season.

Proprietor of Dodan Warriors, Col. Sam Ahmedu (retd.), expressed delight at his team’s victory, saying: “I am happy that we won because it was a very tough game. The two teams are technically sound.’’
