Lawson Satisfied With Team Lagos’ Progress

Chief Coach of Team Lagos football squad, Olatunde Gustav-Lawson, has expressed satisfaction over his side’s performance when they played a one all draw with the Bridge Boys F.C of Lagos in a friendly match played recently at the Agege Township Stadium, Lagos.

According to Lawson, the match was organised to help the technical crew of the football team to get the players together and discover new players for the football team in preparation for the forthcoming National Sports Festival to be hosted by Lagos State.

He also enthused that he had difficulties with the left full back and was trying out other players to help fill the position.

“The players gave a good account of themselves and I’m happy that we got a good result against a very strong opposition. However, the left full back position is still vacant and that’s the position we’re looking to get a player to fill.”

On whether his side can win Gold at the football event of the Sports Festival, Lawson said: “The reason we started training this early is because we intend to win gold at the event. We’ll still play some other matches to ensure that the players are fit enough when the Festival starts.”

Meanwhile, skipper of the side Keshinro Saka believes that the players are highly motivated to win for Lagos State stating that most of them want to step up their careers.

He also said that as the host state, much would be expected of the players. “That’s why the players have been putting in their best to ensure the team come out tops in November when the Sports Festival kicks off.
