Ogun Declares War On Robbers

The Ogun State government has purchased five Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) as part of efforts to beef up security in the state, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

Taking delivery of the APCs in Abeokuta on Monday, Governor Ibikunle Amosun said seven more were being expected to boost security.

Amosun also said the purchase of the APCs was to demonstrate his administration’s commitment to safety of lives and property as well as attracting investors.

“As you can observe, the recently-held Ogun Investors’ Forum is already yielding positive results.

“ There is the need to consolidate on that by ensuring that all obstacles to investment in the state are dismantled.

“That is why we are taking security very seriously,” the governor said.
