Scrabble: Awowade Donates Sports Equipment To Lagos Council

In his bid to contribute his quota to the development of scrabble in Lagos State, former Nigerian international, Femi Awowade has promised to donate scrabble equipment to the State Scrabble Council.

Awowade popularly known as Champ, will donate the equipment, worth thousands of naira, to the Lagos Council on Thursday at the Lagos Country Club, Ikeja, Lagos.

Awowade lives in the United Kingdom and he is a board member of Nigeria Scrabble Federation, NSF.

Speaking on why he decided to donate the equipment, Awowade said: “It’s my way of contributing to the development of the game in Lagos and I also want to give back to the society.”

Meanwhile, NSF has concluded plans to hold a day scrabble clinic for players and lovers of the game in Lagos state and its envorons.

The event is scheduled to hold on 26 May, 2012, at the Kings College, Lagos.
