When schoolgirl, Hannah Screen, was plucked from the crowd by Colin Montgomerie to take part in a putting contest at Golf Live two years ago, little did she realise the experience would inspire her golf game.

Faced with the challenge of a tricky 40-foot downhill putt, Hannah, the then ten-year-old and 28-handicapper, calmly rolled her ball to within two-feet of the cup to beat her competitors, which included Paul Casey and Tim Henman.

Two years on, Hannah is now playing off 11 and in the EWGA training squad for 2012/13 after claiming the Hertfordshire County Girls Handicap Junior Girls Order of Merit title and finishing runner-up in the prestigious EWGA Abraham Trophy.

Her father Nik said: “Hannah loves playing golf and is improving every year. With the help of her coach Lee Jordan, she has developed a great swing and loves events like Golf Live where she can watch the professionals and study their technique close up.

“The picture on her wall when she was picked from the crowd last time has been an inspiration to her to work hard in pursuit of her dream of one day becoming a professional golfer.

“We’re really excited to be going back to this year’s event and the chance to see some of the top lady golfers is one of the big attractions for Hannah.”

With victorious 2011 European Solheim Cup duo Alison Nicholas and Mel Reid in the lineup, Hannah and the rest of the golfing public will be spoilt at London GC next month.
