CRICKET: CCC Super 4 League Ends Sunday

The Super 4 Irish Smart Cricket League will end on Sunday at the Tafawa Balewa Cricket Oval, Onikan, Lagos.

As usual, the final day of the Super 4 has always been a beehive of activities for the Cricket Club Committee, CCC. While the season will be rounded up with a titan clash between the defending champions, BRF Cricket Club and Government College, Ibadan, GCI, Old Boys Cricket Club, the CCC will also be given outstanding awards to categories of winners on the day which include the Best Team, Best Player, Best Print and Electronic Media Awards and a host of others.

Already, officials of the two finalists are looking forward to a great match on Sunday. Captain of GCI, Tayo Atoloye, said his side’s unbeaten run on the road to the final will help against their opponents. “We’ll round up our training tomorrow and I want to assure that we’ll carry the day,” he said.

Team Manager of BRF, Owolabi Oduguwa said that “having gotten to this stage, I want to say that nothing will stop us from winning the Super 4 again.”

Meanwhile, George Wiltshire, General Manager/Chief Operating Officer, COO of Nigeria Cricket Federation has announced the postponement of the 3rd National Women’s Cricket Championship scheduled to hold from April 27 – 28. In a release made available to P.M. Sports early today, Wiltshire said the tourney has been postponed to a later which will be communicated to all the cricket stakeholders.
