Kwara Gov Commends Jonathan On TIME’s Listing
Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has attributed the listing of President Goodluck Jonathan among 100 most influential persons in the world by TIME magazine, in its 2012 edition, as an acknowledgement of the resilience and relevance of Nigerians in the international community.
Governor Ahmed in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Abdulwahab Oba, said the listing of President Jonathan was indicative of the fact that despite the challenges Nigeria was going through, giant strides have been made in other facets of life.
Alhaji Ahmed was optimistic that the nomination of President Jonathan as one of the 100 most influential persons in the world would spur the President to work harder in ensuring that the vision of achieving the Nigerian project was achieved.
Alhaji Ahmed also advised Nigerians to use the Time magazine nomination of President Jonathan to imbibe the sterling qualities of love for the fatherland and strive consistently for the good of Nigerians.
“Nigeria can undoubtedly become the African tiger in all facets of life if we all work hard for the good of the country”, the governor said.
Governor Ahmed congratulated the President and Nigerians for the recognition and pray Almighty Allah for continuous guidance, peace and unity in the nation.
Governor Ahmed also commiserated with the former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Alfa Belgore on the death of his wife, Alhaja Fatimah Belgore.
Alhaji Ahmed who described the incident as painful prayed Allah to grant the deceased Aljanat Fridaus.
He also prayed Allah to give Justice Belgore and the entire Belgore family the fortitude to bear the painful loss.
