Lagos Agog For Inter-Clubs Gymnastics Tourney

Hundred of gymnasts have confirmed their readiness to take part in the Inter -Club Gymnastics tourney, which kicks off today at the Mobolaji Bank Anthony Sports Complex, Rowe Park, Yaba.

The two-day event is put together by the Lagos State Gymnastics Association in conjuction with the office of Special Adviser on Grassroots Sports To Governor Fashola, Wale Oladunjoye.

Chairman of the association, Adefemi Mayowa, informed P.M.Sports that lot of young people have shown interest in the tournament.

Mayowa confirmed that hundreds of gymnasts and some clubs have submitted their registration forms for the competition.

He said that the aim of the tourney is to give more people the chance to take part in gymnastics on a quarterly basis in a competitive environment.

“So many clubs and individuals have signified their interest in taking part in the competition. It’s going to be a full house and I’m glad this innovation of Inter-Clubs Championship is coming at this period in the history of Lagos Sports.

“We can only thank Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola for the support he is giving to sports in Lagos State,” Mayowa said.
