Lagos Court Burgled

Members of the Local Government Petition Tribunal, sitting at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos Island, were stunned to find the tribunal venue burgled this morning.

Sources claimed that some unidentified men had found their way into the hearing room through one of its rear windows. It was alleged that some files and documents related to the cases being heard, were carted away.

Three of the five-man tribunal and its secretary had arrived in the morning, waiting for its chairman, Justice Francis Owobiyi, (retd.) to commence sitting. The incident however prevented the sitting.

Also, the petitioners and everyone else that had something to do with the tribunal’s sitting were equally prevented from entering the court room.

One of the cases slated for hearing this morning was between Mustapha Dada of the Peoples Democratic Party against Moses Osunubi of the Action Congress of Nigeria.

P.M.News gathered that the tribunal secretary later lodged a complaint at the Lions Building Police Station about the incident.
