Cycling: Tourney ‘ll Shape Up Team Lagos —Ajibola
Chairman of Lagos Cycling Association, Dr. Kenshinro Ajibola, says the recently concluded Cycling Competition will help sharpen Team Lagos cyclists for the 2012 National Sports Festival, billed for Lagos later in the year.
The event saw 23 cyclists, who rode from Onikan Stadium through Ozumba Mbadiwe Road to Lekki.
Ajibola, who was impressed with the perfromance of the participants, told P.M.Sports that the race was put together to get the best out of the atheletes and discover young talents ahead of the Sports Festival scheduled to hold in Lagos.
“I’m happy with the number of participants that took part in the championship. This shows that we have good athletes that can represent this state at the Festival. We will continue to sustain this competition and discover more talents before we start camping for the sports festival,” he said
Commissioner of Sports of Lagos State,er, Enitan Oshodi said that the state will continue to support Association, as all the sports in the state will be given equal attention.
“This is the time to help young talented athletes who have the passion for cycling and that the Lagos state governor is ready to host the athletes who will make Lagos State proud in the national sports festival and such athletes will be best in all cycling organised competition before National Sports Festiival.
Meanwhile,Ifeanyi Moses emerged the winner out of 23 participants that took part in one day event.
