Tie With Wolves: Leopards Arrive Lagos Thursday

Officials of Warri Wolves FC say they are expecting their opponents in the CAF Confederation Cup, the Black Leopards of South Africa in Lagos on Thursday, 26 April, 2012.

Wolves, who will clash with Leopards in the first leg, Round of 16 stage of the competition in Warri this weekend, disclosed that the South African Club have sent words about their travelling itinerary.

Secretary General of Wolves, Lawrence Onowho said: “Our protocol officials would be in Lagos on Thursday to welcome Leopards’ contingent from South Africa. The visitors would stay the night in Lagos and move to Warri, venue of Sunday’s match, on Friday.”

Leopards edged out St Elol Lupopo of DR Congo on 6-4 aggregate to set up this weekend’s tie with Wolves, who also knocked out FC Kallon of Sierra Leone on a 2-0 aggregate.

Although, Wolves played a deserved goalless draw with Heartland last Sunday in a NPL match in warri, Gift Atuliwa and Micheal Okoyoh who scored the goals that wrecked Kallon, said they are looking forward to playing the visiting Leopards hands down.

Goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim has however warned his teammates not to expect an easy tie against the South African side. “We are in a delicate stage of CAF Confederation Cup and must play a tight game to grab maximum points against the Leopards.
