Dabiri said: “I am CEO of IMAN Entertainment and the plan is to create a major record label, an African major in 2012. That is the plan. We have signed a couple of artistes; we are signing a bunch more. We have a lot of publishing liaisons with companies in America; Universal, Sony, EMI, all of the labels across the world. We are already liaising with and talking to and trying to create a platform for Nigeria and Africa where independent labels can get funded.”

The new entertainment boss said a lot of the independent record labels lack funding, marketing and PR plans and packages. “So, we are trying to do things a little bit different. It’s a pretty big plan and really interesting. This is one of the things that I feel I brought back from abroad and I think it will move the industry forward,” elDee said.
