Kano Sex Workers In Trouble

The Kano State Hisbah Command says it will not relent in its effort in fighting commercial sex workers in Kano.

Hisbah is a security outfit for the enforcement of Sharia Laws.

The spokesperson of the command, Malam Musa Tanko, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Tuesday that the command was determined to fight with the situation.

Tanko also said that the command would do its best in sanitising the state against prostitution, adding the main task of the command was to free the society from all ills.

He expressed the determination of Hisbah commander to provide all the necessary support to the command to intervene in areas of need.

NAN recalls however that 50 Hisbah members were ambushed by youths on April 22 when they were on an operation at Kwanar Gafan in Garun Malam Area of Kano.

The command, however, arrested 80 commercial sex workers and would soon charge them to court.
