Lagos FA Cup: First Bank Defeat Young Stars

Defending Champions of the Lagos State Challenge Cup, First Bank Football Club defeated the Young Stars 2-0 in the round of 16 to qualify for the quarter final of the tourney yesterday at the Agege Stadium, Lagos State.

Godwin Zaki opened scoring for First Bank in the 39th minute and efforts by Young Stars to equalise before half time proved abortive, as the encounter ended 1-0.

Young Stars, who were quarter finalists last year in the Lagos FA Cup could not convert chances created in the second half until First Bank got their second goal through Odoemelam Emmanuel.

After the tie, First Bank Coach, Monday Gabriel told P.M.Sports that he pleased with the progress of the team, saying that their target is to retain the title back to back this season.
