Baale Allen Avenue Cup Begins 10 May

The first edition of Baale Allen Avenue Community Soccer Championship will begin on 10 May at the Sky Power Football Pitch, Ikeja, Lagos.

Twenty teams have confirmed their readiness to take part in the three-week competition.

Chairman, Organising Committee, Taiwo Bakare told P.M.Sports that14 teams have registered.

Bakare informed that the competition will not only bring out the best in the players but all the participating teams will also be given certificates of participation after the tourney.

“We want to organise a memorable tourney for all the teams. Apart from the prize money that will be given to the first and third placed teams, we are also planning to give all the participants consolatory prizes and certificates of participation’’ he said.

Sponsor of the tournament, Baale of Allen Avenue community, Ikeja, Thomas Jaji, urged the players to be good ambassadors of their clubs, warning that any player caught for misconduct will be sanctioned accordingly.
