Lagos Deaf Sports Holds In Agege

Lagos State Deaf Sports Association held its inter-clubs championship at the Agege Stadium this week.

The participating athletes, who came from different parts of the state, took part in different track events like 100m, 200m, 400m and the relay races in both male and female categories.

Chairman of the association, Dr. Lanre Aiyejuyo and the Chairman of Lagos State Fives Association, Alhaji Nasiru Mohammed witnessed the event.

Dr. Aiyejuyo commended the spirit of sportmanship of the deaf athletes, who defied the hot sun to burn their energy on the tracks.

At the closing ceremony of the tourney, handsome prizes were given to winners in different categories of the competition to motivate them.

The chairman also revealed that the association will soon organise another inter-clubs tournament in table tennis.
