Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Sabit Adeyemi Ikuforiji, who is facing trial for money laundering charges at the Federal High Court in Lagos has expressed confidence in the court to exonerate him.

Ikuforiji disclosed this on his return from the court where he is facing trial on money laundering charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The EFCC alleged that Ikuforiji with his personal assistant, Oyebode Atoyebi, collected money from the House in the course of performing their official duties without due process.

According to Ikuforiji, “the rule of law is sacrosanct on any issue of dispute or controversy while the court remains the last hope of the common man.
