Nigeria's southeast governors meet on security

Governors of states in Nigeria’s south East geo-political zone met in Enugu on Sunday, to deliberate on security issues in the zone and the country in general. 

Briefing newsmen at the end of a three-hour meeting, the Chairman of the Eastern Governors Forum and governor of Anambra, Mr Peter Obi, said that the meeting discussed how to strengthen security in the zone. Obi,  who declined giving measures the forum had put in place to intensify security in the zone said that such measures was not meant for public consumption. “All we did was to discuss issues of security in the South East and issues of security generally are not for the public,’’ he said.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Governors . Martin Elechi of Ebonyi, Theodore Orji of Abia and Sullivan Chime of Enugu attended the meeting. Rochas Okorocha of Imo was represented by his deputy, Mr Jude Agbaso.
