Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Zaboom Brand, Ejike Edem, has disclosed why he decided to open Zaboom African, a Chinese Cuisine and Bar inside the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

He revealed that his desire is to add value to the stadium facility, in terms of development, growth and to open doors of opportunities for sports men and women both local and foreign to cement their relationship.

Edem said that he was spurred to come back home to add his quota to the development of the country after listening to the appeal made by President Goodluck Jonathan to Nigerians in diaspora during a visit to Japan, where he was a resident.

He stated that apart from yielding to the call, he took it upon himself to create employment opportunities for athletes, who may want to make some money by combining sports and work.

According to him, “Zaboom has come to right the wrong in the sporting circle. I don’t like people saying that we are after some organisations. We decided to set up this outfit to create a platform, where athletes can share experience and better their lots. We at Zaboom don’t want athletes to beg after training”.

He added: “I extend my hands of friendship to all stakeholders as I’m willing to sponsor table tennis, basketball, disabled sports and any other youth event that the Lagos State Ministry of Youths, Sports and Culture or any sporting company may want to organise in the state.”
