Security forces in Kano, northwest Nigeria, this evening, arrested Ibrahim Mohammed Ali who escaped from the Boko Haram bomb factory at Bubugaje, Sharada Phase 111 Industrial Estate during an early morning raid by men of the Kano Joint Task Force.

Intelligence report has revealed that Ali, an Ordinary National Diploma, OND, holder from Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri, capital of Borno state, northeast Nigeria, is the prime suspect of last Sunday’s bombings and killings at a Catholic church in Bayero University, Kano old site which claimed the lives of about 20 people including two professors.

According to a security source, Ali escaped Tuesday morning during a raid, when one of the women guided him with a new-born baby, “daring the JTF to shoot; but our men retreated on sighting the woman and the child who were later rescued.”

The source further stated that Ali escaped through the back of the building after blowing off the back walls with explosives but we were able to trail and track him down.”

It was gathered that Ali is the husband to Fatima Mohammed, the Cameroonian nursing mother who saved him during the raid.

JTF spokesman, Lt. Ikedichi Iweha confirmed Ali’s arrest.
