Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka and Chief Rasheed Gbadamosi are among eminent Nigerians to be honoured by Hi-Life All Stars Club, Lagos, at a ceremony that will also witness the induction of its members, installation of board of trustees and inauguration of new officers.
Highlights of the event, according to Mr. Dejumo Lewis, Kabiyesi Oloja of Village Headmaster fame and Ige Olusoga Jacobs, President and Secretary, respectively, are a 15-minute talk on highlife music in Nigeria as well as performance of two highlife songs each by the Department of Theatre Arts, Lagos State University (LASU); Department of Music, Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED), Lagos; Peter King School of Music and the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) School of Music, among other activities.
The event, which will also be graced by Ambassador Segun Olusola (OFR) and veteran highlife musician and ace trumpeter, Dr. Victor Abimbola Olaiya (OON), among other dignitaries from all walks of life, is slated for Sunday, 6 May, 2012 at the Stadium Hotel, Surulere, Lagos from 4 p.m.
