Ogun FA Cup S/Final: Wusu Plan To Upset Ebedei

Wusu Football Club of Idi Iroko and FC Ebedei will be at war this evening in the semi final of Ogun State Federation Cup at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta. Ogun State.

Having scaled the hurdle of Remo Stars in a one sided encounter which Tunde Oyebande tutored side won 3-0 in the quarter final match last week, today’s cracker promises to be a clash of titans.

Team Manager of Wusu FC, Oyebande said his side will be out to upset FC Ebedei

“Our victory at the final of Akinlade Cup would be a motivation to upset FC Ebedei in the semi final of the Ogun FA Cup. We have come a long way and we cannot afford to lose at this crucial stage. If we fail to beat them it will be a huge disappointment not to the team but also to our fans who have been supporting the club since we started this competition,” said Oyebande.

Oyebande told GSG yesterday that his team are ready to play their heart out when they confront Ebedei in a make or mar encounter.

He admitted that the game will be a mother of all battles considering the fact that any team that qualifies for the final will automatically represent the state in the forthcoming Federation cup.

“Both teams will throw caution to the wind in search of the final ticket. We were told that the two finalists in this tournament will automatically represent the State in the Federation Cup so both teams will be at their best,” he said.

Oyebande said having defeated defending champion, Handsworth FC in the Round of 16, his team are ready to lift the cup and represent the state well in the Federation Cup. He charged the players to approach the game like a cup final saying that a victory for them will make the club popular in the state.

The second semi final of the day will be between Festico FC and Gateway FC.

Secretary of the Ogun State Football Association, Kehinde Oyenekan told GSG on phone that they are using the tourney to discover young talents that will represent the state in the play off football event of the National Sports Festival.
