'Why We Organised PCRC Merit Awards'

A member of Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, Lion Building Division, Mr. Afolabi Onanaike has explained why the body is organising the forthcoming Merit Awards and the Ten Million Naira Appeal Fund

The PCRC Merit Award will hold on 8 May at the Archbishop Shoremekun Memorial Hall, Lagos Island.

Onanaike said the Merit Award is appreciate the efforts of the officers and men under the Area ‘A’ Police Command which comprises Ikoyi Police Station, Bar Beach Police Station, Onikan, Lion Building Police Station, Central Police Station, Ebute Ero Police Station and Dolphin Estate Police Station.

“The Merit Awards is part of our programme line up for this year and I am happy that the award will help them to give their best on the job. We also want to use the Merit Award ceremony to create a platform where the people of the Lagos Island and officers have a social interaction,” he said.

Chairman of the PCRC, Gbolahan Olumide Adepegba said the body has empowered the officers by organizing seminars for them and provided equipment that will make their work easy on Lagos Island.

Officers invited for the ceremony include Deputy Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, DCP Babatunde Shobulo, CSP Hakeem Odumosu, Commandant of RRS, Lagos State and Mr Bayo Suleiman, Commandant, Taskforce Lagos State.
