Abandoned car triggers bomb scare in Nigeria’s capital

The high brow Adetokumbo Ademola Crescent in the Wuse ll District of the Nigerian capital of Abuja, was Friday morning seized by a bomb scare following the discovery of an abandoned vehicle in front of the AP Plaza building, which houses the Petroleum Equalization Management Fund and other businesses including banks and insurance companies.
The vehicle which had been towed away by the Federal Capital Territory Police Command was said to have been wired with a red flexible electric cable running through the ignition area beneath the car’s dashboard, all the way to the booth of the car.
One of the policemen deployed to the area to ensure law and order, told P.M. News that the wired vehicle and the owner, who claimed that the vehicle developed fault last night, have been taken to the Command.
Other shopping complexes within the vicinity of AP Plaza were instantly evacuated upon the discovery of the vehicle.
