The list of 13 boxers that will represent Amuwo Odofin Local Government in the boxing event of the 2012 Ibile Games have been made public by the Chief Coach of the boxing team, Oluwafemi Sholanke.
Sholanke disclosed after a six-week rigorous training that they selected the best hands in the local government, stating that they were transparent in their selection.
He boasted that they are going to attend the Festival to make a bold statement that the local government is the home of sports, especially boxing in Lagos State.
According to him “We are not going to the festival to complete the numbers but to make a statement that our LG is a force to reckon with in boxing”.
The list of boxers are: Akintade Amed 46kg; Akinbode Olamilekan 49kg; Fasasi Sikiru 52kg; Rilwan Abioye 56kg; Ajala Nurudeen 60kg; Ayo Sadik 64kg.
Others are Kazeem Ajiboye 69kg; Godwin Ambrose 75kg; Chidi Godfirst 81kg; Muri Balogun 91kg; Sunday Okoro +91kg, while the only girl is Ruth Okenye 64kg.
