The paramount ruler of Ikateland, Lagos State, Oba Saheed Ademola (Elegushi III) on Thursday called on the Federal Government to find urgent solution to the spate of bombings in the country.
Elegushi made the call when the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, led some lawmakers on a courtesy visit to his palace in Lekki/Ajah.
“We don’t pray to experience Boko Haram bombings in the South-West, especially in Lagos State which is the heartbeat of the nation’s economy,” he said.
The Lagos monarch sympathised with the families of those affected in one way or the other by the violence and urged the government to address the situation.
He commended the lawmakers for pioneering the making of good legislation that has helped in the transformation of Lagos State.
The traditional ruler urged the lawmakers to remain focused and diligent, while assuring them of his constant support.
Earlier, Ikuforiji said that the youthful and dynamic posture, as well as the vast experience of the Elegushi, would help to add value to the growth and development of Ikateland.
The Speaker said that modernism and civilisation, which had formed the basis for choosing traditional rulers in recent times, would allow for even development of the state.
