Supporters and members of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) on Saturday in Benin defied the early morning rain to attend the party’s campaign for Edo governorship election.

Not even the murder of Olaitan Oyerinde, Governor Oshiomhole’s private secretary two days ago, tempered the rain soaked party carnival.

The campaign, which took place at the Museum Ground, was coordinated by Chief Tom Ikimi, a national leader of the party. The party members waived brooms — the party symbol — and chanted songs to mobilise the electorate to vote for the party in the July 14 election.
