ACN Empowers Indigent Members
The Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Lagos Mainland Local Government chapter, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, has empowered indigent members of the party in the council area.
The over N5 million poverty alleviation programme which was sponsored by the Commissioner for the Environment, Mr. Tunji Bello, took place at Banilux Event Centre, Sabo.
Two hundred people benefited from the N10,000 cash donation while other eight members were given sewing machines, two hair dryers, soft drinks and bags of rice among other things.
Speaking with Political Platform, Kayode Aransiola, Chairman, Mainland Independent Group, MIG, said the gesture was to say a thank you to the people that voted overwhelmingly for the party during the last election.
“What we are doing is to ameliorate the suffering of our people in Lagos Mainland. We are trying to reciprocate what they did to our great party during the last elections in the state. Today is their pay day.
“We are also giving out 25 recharge card printing machines to the beneficiaries of our Recharge Card Printing Programme. This is just a widow’s mite from our commissioner,” he stated.
