The rivalry between Otunba Wasiu Alabi Pasuma and Saheed Osupa will be ignited in Abeokuta, Ogun State southwest Nigeria on 3,June 2012 as the duo will be competing for honours in the Yoruba Movie Academy Awards(YMAA).
P.M.Entertainment learned that the duo have been nominated in the best musician in acting role category of the awards which will take place at the newly improved Cultural centre in Abeokuta.
Others nominees are Eedris Abdul Kareem, Abass Akande Obesere, and Sexy Steel.
Speaking in Abeokuta, Ogun State recently, the President and the Executive producer of the award Tunde Osinibosi said that the event which is being supported by the Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun is to raise the bar and to improve the Yoruba movie industry.
Osinibosi said that the award will also project the cultural of the yorubas among other things.
Commissioner for Culture and tourism, Ogun State, Chief Olu Odeyemi said that Ogun State is reasdy to play host to Nigerian movie stars.
Veteran Actors Lere Paimo and Alhaji Kareem Adepoju aka Baba Wande salute the gallentary of the organizers with a promise to be part of the show on 3,June 2012.
Other nominees are Odunlade Adekola, Yomi Fash Lanso, Muyiwa Ademola, Femi Adebayo and Femi Bransh, in Best actor in leading role category, Fathia Balogun, Toyin Aimaku, Funke Akindele, Bimbo Akintola and Mosun Filani;best actress leading role.
Kelvin Ikeduba ,Ricardo Agbor, Mercy Aigbe, Dorriss Simeon and Rose Odika were also nominated in the best cross over actor category ,while Esther Idowum Phillips aka Mama Rainbow, the late Herbert Ogunde, Moses Olaiya, Tunde Kelani ,the late Alade Aromirwe, Lere Paimo and Chief Mrs Biodun Duro Ladipo have been listed as recipients of the Yoruba Movie Academy Awards honour.
