Unidentified gunmen have attacked students’ residential home in Minna, Niger state and killed a 400 level student of Federal University of Technology, Minna, northcentral Nigeria.
The victim is said to be an indigene of Akwa Ibom state.
The hostel is a house located at 13 Zarumai and has about 50 apartments accommodating mostly students and serving Corp members.
Residents of the house say at about 3 a.m. Saturday gunmen attacked the house and killed Emmanuel who was out to rescue his neighbour who sought for help.
The gunmen were said to have left shortly after killing the student without taking anything from the hostel.
Susan Ofuako who lived in the compound said she heard a gun shot and the voice of Emmanuel pleading for help.
“He called for our help but we couldn’t go because we were afraid,“ Susan told P.M.NEWS.
Niger state police command confirmed the incident, saying it has started investigation.
Some residents of the house have also been invited by the police for questioning.
