Coach Salutes Yakubu

Blackburn Rovers coach, Steve Kean has paid tribute to top scorer Yakubu Aiyegbeni after a fantastic debut season with the club.

The Nigerian hitman bagged his 17th league goal in the final game of the 2011-12 campaign, the most the Aiyegbeni has ever managed during his time in England.

Speaking after the Stamford Bridge match, his manager was full of praise for the 29-year-old.

“He’s been a great servant and he’s been a great signing and hopefully we can hold onto him,” said Kean.

“No doubt the vultures will be hovering and will be trying to take his services but over the whole season I think he has been exceptional.” In and around the place he has been great with the young lads coming through. He has been fantastic.”
