After knowing their opponents in the 2012 CAF Champions League group stage, management of Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure have concluded plans to beef up the team ahead of the challenges in the tourney.
The Akure Gunners, as Sunshine Stars are called by their fans, have been paired in a tough group that will see them face the defending champions, Esperance of Tunisia, Etoile du Sahel Sportive and AS Chief of Algeria in the group stage of Africa biggest club football.
While speaking with P.M Sports on telephone this morning, coach of Sunshine Stars, Gbenga Ogunbote revealed that they plan to recruit 2-3 quality players to beef up the team before their first group match in June.
Ogunbote further stated that their next target is to make it out of the group stage and play in the semi-final, adding that every team in their group have equal chance of qualification for the last four irrespective of their pedigree in the CAF Champions League.
