Former coach of the Super Eagles, Christian Chukwu has called for the understanding of Nigerians over the dropping of some established players from the Eagles’ list released by Coach Stephen Keshi for the International friendly against Peru and Nigeria’s World and Nations Cup qualifying matches.

Chukwu, who is a member of the technical committee of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, said Keshi’s decision to drop the likes of West Brom star, Osaze Odemwingie and Blackburn Rovers striker, Yakubu Aiyegbeni is normal.

He said the Keshi believes in the other players he called for the matches to deliver.

According to Chukwu, this situation would give the players that make the list the motivation to give their best in the team in order to justify their places in the national team.

“What I think Keshi needs from Nigerians is their support instead of the numerous criticisms he has been receiving since the list was made public on Thursday. I believe that any of the players that makes the final list for the matches would be ready to die on the pitch for Keshi,” said Chukwu.
