Former Super Eagles physiotherapist, Dipo Odunuga, has faulted the idea of inviting home-based players to play alongside the foreign professionals in the senior national side, saying they do not have the experience to represent the country at the senior level.

“The idea of inviting home-based players to play in the Super Eagles is not good enough. The home-based players don’t have what it takes to play in the senior national team,” said Odunuga.

Odunuga said lack of competent technical officials in the country to attend to the players is another factor that affect them.

“We don’t even have technical officials that can take care of the players when they are invited to play for the country. Many of the players are even older than the foreign players. They have reached diminishing returns and can no longer play well.”
