In what seems like a vote of no confidence on the Nigerian police, a Nigerian senator has appealed to military officials in the country to take up the responsibility of securing lives and properties within the country.

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Federal Character and Inter-Governmental Affairs Committee, Senator Dahiru Awaisu Kuta, gave this hint when his committee visited the Army Headquarters.

According to Kuta, who represents Niger East Senatorial District on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the army is desperately needed at this time of the nation’s security challenges “to curtail the high level of insecurity in the country.
