Next Friday, 25 May, the 2012 edition of Star Trek, Nigeria’s biggest musical country tour, will kick off in Ibadan. And leading the line-up of artistes to perform at the concert is Afro-pop star Tuface Idibia.
The award winning singer will be jamming alongside two other top artistes, 9ice and Abass Obesere, at the night show holding at the Adamasingba Stadium.
Also performing at the concert already generating a buzz in the city is the recently crowned winners of the 2012 Star Quest, Crystals, and 2010 Star Quest winners, Juke Box.
After Ibadan, the Star Trek train will move to Makurdi the following day, 26 May, where Mavin Records top act, Wande Coal, will be jamming alongside J.Martins, Naeto C, Ice Prince and Diamondz.
In this year’s edition of Star Trek, three of Nigeria’s leading female artistes, Tiwa Savage, Omawumi and Waje, will be performing on stage alongside other A-list male artistes. “This is a proof that the Star Brand constantly seeks newer ways of doing things, all in response to the yearning of its teeming consumers,” said Sampson Oloche, Senior Brand Manager, Star, Nigerian Breweries Plc.
Lagos and Ilesha, Osun State will play hosts to the concert train on 1 and 2 June. The concert will also move round six Nigerian cities which include Benin and Sapele, (8 and 9 June), Awka and Abakaliki (15 and 16 June), and Uyo and Calabar (22 and 23 June).
