Head of Department of Agric, Rural & Social development in Orile Agege Local Council Development Area, Mrs. Moji Akinola has assured fans of the two finalists that the final of Agege Chairman’s Cup will hold next month at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.

Mageeco FC will play The Boys FC in the final. The tournament, which kicked off two month ago at the Pako Amoo football pitch, is sponsored by the Chairman of Orile Agege LCDA, Taofeek Adaranijo.

The final ceremony, which was earlier fixed for 15 April, could not hold because the cup donor was out of the country. This forced the organisers to delay the final ceremony.

Akinola told P.M.Sports that the council is working round the clock to hold the final on a yet to be fixed date in June.

“A lot of people have said different things about the competition. We are delaying the final ceremony because we want the Chairman, who was not around to grace the ceremony. We’ve concluded an arrangement to hold the final now in June, but the date will be communicated to the finalists in due course.”

Chairman, Organising Committee, Dele Gbajumo, thanked the cup donor for his contribution to sports development in the LCDA. He called the finalists to be patient, assuring that the final will not go beyond next month.
