A non-government organisation, KALVAC Human Development Initiative has revealed that about 2.3 million Nigerian children live with the dreaded Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).

Pastor Oladipupo Obisesan revealed this at the launching/fund raising of N40 million in support of KALVAC’s nationwide free screening of hypertension and diabetes project.

According to Obisesan, the role of sensitising the public on HIV and AIDS constitute a major health challenge of the nation, adding that from 2003 till date, Nigeria has joined the countries with the highest number of people living with HIV.

In her welcome address at the event, Executive Director and Initiator of the organisation, Dr. Ada Ekueme, said most Nigerians are dead because they ignored their blood pressure or blood sugar level which is often caused by lack of knowledge or awareness.
