Former Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Kashimawo Laloko, has blasted the critics of Super Eagles’ Coach, Stephen Keshi for losing 0-1 to the Peruvian national team in a friendly match played on Wednesday in Lima.

Laloko said that the Eagles’ coach should not be assessed only on the team’s loss to Peru but be given a breathing space because he is still rebuilding his team.

“I don’t know why some people are criticising Keshi because Nigeria lost to Peru in a friendly match. Nigerians must be constructive and be fair in their criticism,” said Laloko.

He said: “The loss to Peru does not mean that Keshi has lost control of the team. The coach is rebuilding his team and a lot has to be done as they prepare for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches, especially against Namibia in Calabar.”

Laloko explained further that the World Cup and Nations Cup qualifiers should be used as the yardstick to evaluate Keshi.
