Rising Stars manager, Sunday Erelesusi has said his wards will rise against visiting Jigawa Golden Stars in this weekend’s Matchday 29 in Ado-Ekiti.

The NPL newcomers are rooted at the bottom on the log with a pitiable 22 points from a possible 78 though with a match at hand against Heartland.

Erelesusi told SuperSport.com that they are working very hard to ensure the three points at stake do not elude them at home.

“We see the game as our own match, an opportunity to rake in three points.

“We as humans are doing our best to improve on our lots, we’re praying fervently to God to stretch forth his hands to lift us up.

“The players’ morale is not down, they still believe with hard work they can climb out from the deep pit they found themselves at the moment.

“Except there will be midweek matches that will see us on the road we hope to take full advantage of our home matches to pick vital points,” he said.

Erelesusi, however, has a passionate appeal to the referees not to compound their poor state with bias officiating.

“We’re at the bottom at the moment, I just want to make a special appeal to the referees not to use their privileged position to drag us further in the mud.

“We shouldn’t be sacrificed, we’re just down not out, we’ll surely rise and won’t go on relegation as widely speculated,” he said.
