AWC Qualifier: Glo Backs Falcons To Beat Zimbabwe

Telecommunications giant, Globacom, has declared support for the Super Falcons ahead of the crucial 2012 African Women Championship, AWC, first leg qualifier against the Female national team of Zimbabwe in Harare on Sunday.

According to Globacom, the Falcons deserve maximum support from Nigerians in their quest to qualify for the next African Women Championship.

“It was unfortunate that the Falcons failed in their bid to qualify for the 2012 Olympics and the All African Games. But, we believe they need all the support to beat Zimbabwe and forge ahead to qualify for the next African Women Championship,” a statement from Globacom said.

The company added; “We appeal to Nigerians to give the team moral support and we will see Falcons emerge as African champions again.”

The Falcons, until the recent setback have remained a force to reckon with in African football, winning six of the seven African Women Championship, AWC titles ever organised by CAF.

Meanwhile, the team have intensified preparation for the match with the Head Coach, Kadiri Ikhana, assuring Nigerians of victory in the encounter.

“We are very prepared for the Zimbabwe game and the players are in brilliant shape to execute the game and I am quite sure they will make Nigeria proud,” Ikhana said.

Globacom is the official sponsor of Nigerian national teams.
